Origami (or-i-GA-me) is the art of folding paper.
Used anciently for religious ceremonies in the Japanese culture.

Today is it a fun hobby and craft...and can still be used for special occasions or for when you are bored or need an activity or lesson prop :)

This book is REALLY FUN!

Clever designs come from stories in the Book of Mormon:
*Tree of Life
*Sword of Labon
*Liahona
*Nephi's Ship
*King Benjamin's Tower
*Jaredite Barge
*Nephite Temple
*Lehi's Tent

LDS Church history:
*CTR Shield
*White Shirt
*Necktie
*Pioneer Handcart
*Covered Wagon
*Ox
*Statue of Moroni

and Latter-Day Temples:
*Salt Lake Temple
*Mesa Arizona Temple
*Kansas City Missouri Temple
*Toronto Ontario Temple
*Nauvoo Illinois Temple
*Accra Ghana Temple
*Copenhagen Denmark Temple
*London England Temple
*Hon Kong China Temple
*Papeete Tahiti Temple

I gathered a few girls together and we had fun trying to fold these shapes...My helpers were Jennifer, Emily, Eloise, and Alicia....thanks girls...this was fun!

Pictured are some of the easier shapes we accomplished:
Sword of Labon and Nephi's Ship

One day I would like to be able to do these more skilled designs:
Statue of Moroni, Nephite Temple, Ox

Grab this book and try your hand at Mormon Origami :)
